Mrs Velasques lives in Martinique. Her daughter, who lives in Montpellier, sent her via Chronopost on 27 November, birthday party decorations in two parcels, for a big party that would take place on 8 December. Both parcels were retained at our offices in Montpellier due to missing documentation (invoice and customs documents).
Mrs Velasques contacted our customer service on 5 December, worried because she hadn’t received the parcels. I took care of her request, and explained her what was required in order to resolve the situation. We took the necessary steps together (sending of pro forma invoices with a declaration of goods for customs).
I followed up on her claim, both parcels were finally released, and they were delivered in time for the birthday party.
Mrs Velasques was extremely satisfied with the service provided.
Late on Friday afternoon, we received an urgent call from a customer. He needed to send a machine piece to a newspaper in Almeria urgently. The piece should be received before 4 am. Without that piece, the newspaper wouldn’t be able to print next day's edition.
It was almost impossible to manage our customer´s request, considering it was almost 9 pm: our trucks and vehicles had already left our facilities, and the transit time between Seville and Almeria was around 7 hours.
However, the traffic manager and the customer got on well on the phone, so we decided to ship the parcel to Almeria by ourselves.
Even though the journey was hard at night, we finally arrived to Almeria at 4:10 am. Our customer welcomed us with a huge grateful smile.
At the end, it was worth our effort. We felt great satisfaction when we came back home, and that feeling will be always kept in our memories.

2017 was marked by a significant acceleration of the partnership between Cdiscount and Chronopost. Indeed, in addition to continuing the pilot that we exclusively launched in October 2016 for Sunday morning delivery in Paris, we’ve innovated once again by launching Same Day delivery options in both Bordeaux and Paris.
The most remarkable innovation regarding this initiative, was the use of the high-speed railway line and the TGV between Bordeaux and Paris, to transport parcels and thus be able to deliver them to customer homes in the evening between 7 and 10 pm, for all orders confirmed before midday. In fact, Chronopost was able to support us in rapidly developing the geographical scope of this delivery option, and in broadening the offer to cover our different logistical sites. At the end of the year, Sunday delivery had been extended to include 15 large French cities, and we were able to propose delivery on Sunday 24th December, a unique offer to our customers in these 15 cities, granting them the opportunity to order up until 2 pm on Saturday 23rd for a delivery ‘under the tree’ just before Christmas! It’s one of the many strengths of the Chronopost network, supporting their clients all the way in order to satisfy the end customer.
2018 will again be marked by the development of our existing offers, in terms of geographical scope and eligible goods, but also we hope in the achievement and co-development of new and innovative offers.
We just want to thank DPD Ireland for making the collaboration so easy and efficient. We can't recommend DPD Ireland enough for everything, from their delivery team to their customer service staff. We found them so helpful and couldn't do enough for us.
We know it’s hard to move over from delivery provider when price is our original concern, but we are so happy we did, as we are now saving so much on our customer service working hours.
